In the German test site, pollutants such as nitrogene and phosphorus are mainly discharged through agricultural activities, while in Sweden nitrogene leakage from boreal forests is a major source of pollution. High resolution land cover maps featuring key agriculture and forest classes are coupled with improved water models.

DEMONSTRATION SITE
Two water quality models are applied in Germany (Thuringia) and Sweden (Darlarna).

Water Abstraction by Irrigation

The provided are maps compatible with existing user systems, displaying irrigated surface and irrigation volume of the respective test area, giving input for the estimation of water availability in the course of the vegetation period.
